Repair Services

Our repair service focuses on mechanical repairs and replacement of parts for older equipment that doesn’t not include electronics. Most older equipment doesn’t come with repair manuals so we need to learn about the equipment by having it in hand. For newer equipment it can be more cost effective to contact the original manufacturer. In all cases we are willing to discuss and share our expertise.

Much of equipment that exists does not come with service manuals and modern day equipment manufactures don’t care for repairs made outside of their business models. Modern digital cameras typical require service from manufactures and are often treated as disposable by the manufacture. However, even if we don’t have experience with the equipment we welcome the conversation. If we don’t have the needed experience we may be able to point you another vendor.

The first half hour of in-shop consultation and inspection is set at our bench fee of $40.

The first half hour of in-shop consultation and inspection is set at our bench fee of $40. Services that we perform are but not limited to:

  • Optical cleaning to reach spaces between optics in a lens housing
  • Large format camera cleaning, repair, modification
  • Tripod head maintenance
  • Dent removal and thread repair
  • Correcting iris and soft focus function on a Cooke lens
  • Complete Fabrication and Replacement of Broken or worn parts
