Machined for MA photographer Michael Sullivan, the support arm was fabricated because the weight of the film back was causing undesirable vibrations during the photography process. A locking knob on the right side still allows the rear standard to utilize its rise and fall. Minimal modifications were made to the camera, and the support arm is completely removable.
