Portrait and early landscape lenses were often made without adjustable iris. Instead, there is a slot intended for the insertion of interchangeable metal or cardboard plates, each with its own fixed aperture.

Design and Function

We can supply the missing set of stops for most lenses. After calculating the diameters of the stop set (using the formula: Diameter = Focal Length ÷ f Number) a set of standard or unique stops can be made.

Each stop is laser etched with its f/ mark. The outer dimensions of the stops are precisely calculated so that there is as little play as possible while the stops are in place.
